Creating the Next Generation of Storytellers

Updated October 12, 2026 • Culture That Defines the HBCU Experience

What the record shows

Morehouse opened its multimedia center in September 2026 with support from Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand. The college’s announcement describes production resources and hands-on training intended to connect classroom learning with professional media practice. The supporting financial commitment dates to 2021.

Why it matters

Student storytelling is part of campus culture because it shapes what a community can see and discuss about itself. An interview, documentary or edited report can preserve a voice that would otherwise remain outside the public record. Production tools make that work possible, while editorial judgment determines what those tools produce.

A new facility is a resource, not an automatic guarantee of strong journalism. The learning comes through research, verification, interviewing, editing and responsibility to the people represented. That is the bridge between a physical investment and the student work it is intended to support.
